Such a cool place, owners are very personable & so kind too. I had red beans & sausage, with rice that was a hearty portion. First time in years & it was very good. Comes with garlic toast, too. BYOB allowed if you want to indulge. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I am always greeted warmly when I arrive at Darwells. The place is spotless and the Yeagers proudly describe to me what wonderful dishes they have prepared that day. Their food never disappoints.

The Darwell family are great people. I have been doing business with them for 8-9 years. I’ve never had a bad meal or service from anyone in his store. They have delivered food to my home, supported me in my military private organization and always out wonderful food in front of me. Can’t wait for my next trip to Long Beach to enjoy the goodness.

Can’t say enough about this place. Food is fabulous and the people are so nice. The Chef is so engaging. We asked him simply to fix us something good for a take-home dinner. Told him nothing more and he did just that! Even supplied reheating instructions!!!

My husband and I came here for the first time after a friend recommended it. He had the crawfish Étouffée and I had the Yum Yum pasta, with the Honey Bun Bread Pudding for dessert. Absolutely delicious.As soon as we entered, Chef and his daughter greeted us with such kindness!! A little later his wife showed up as well once we were ready for dessert. The food was out in under 10 minutes, piping hot and cooked to perfection. Granted we were the only folks in here at the time.The food is absolutely delightful. 100% home cooking masterfully put on a plate in a family owned restaurant. Will definitely be coming back and bring more friends. What a lovely atmosphere!

Got take out here a few weeks ago - Yum Yum I think is what it was called. Really good. The lady at the front was super nice and friendly, encouraged me to take it easy if going back to work cause I’d probably need a nap if I ate the whole plate haha. I was headed home for the night, told her no worries I’m calling it a day. 10/10 good.Wouldn’t pay attention to some of these bad reviews, some people are hard to please and go in places looking for something to complain about or criticize. Remember, restaurants workers are people to, and people sometimes have bad days. If you’re a foodie, you’ll enjoy their food. If you feel the prices are high - times are tough, but they also use a lot of local seafood and crab, and crab is not cheap. Go visit them and enjoy the food!
